I’m Home

The way the marble made my feet feel alive

And the barre wasn’t just a place to meet guys

And the mirrors displayed something so kind,

And sweet.

I’m looking at the woman I aspire to be and the woman I aspire to be is me and she and her and he and him a place where we all just fit in and we don’t just fit in because we are thin,

Lanky, and long.

But because we are grounded, together, and strong.

And we can tell you a story through any song and hop and jump and skip and beat and with every moment I feel the heat and no one could ever take that from me because,

It’s a seed.

A seed God planted to make me enchanted and grow as I grow so I’m never neglected from its power to help my stress, my mess to make me feel less of a damsel in distress and on the days I feel ugly when I know I’m pretty I get in the zone and no one’s above me and I turn and spot until someone says stop but I cannot stop I must keep my spot and I point my last toe and the curtains close next thing I know it’s the end of the show and “we’ve gotta go” but “I DON’T WANNA GO, THIS IS MY HOME!!!”

And we all know there’s no place like home.

And I have a house and yes I may love it but honestly I’m gonna have to say fuck it cause

This is my house this is my home

I’m home, I’m home, I’m home!

I get in the car and head to my house

“How was the show?”

“Ma, I was on clouds! I turned and jumped and hit every beat and oh my God I felt so complete”

“You felt complete?”

“Oh yes, it was neat! I still feel the marble beneath my feet. I found my heart, I found my home, I found something I can call my own.”
